PAN IDRÆT is a gay and lesbian sports club with more than 700 members and almost 20 different sports.
Being one of the largest gay and lesbian organisations in Denmark, we are an active part of gay and lesbian life in Copenhagen and are also very involved in international events and sports associations. We have an Outreach program which supports East European athletes via the European Gay & Lesbian Sports Federation, of which we are a member. We are also a member of GLISA - the Gay & Lesbian International Sports Association, the organisation which owns the World Outgames series of events, the second of which we helped to host in Copenhagen in 2009 to worldwide acclaim.
We are also a member of many mainstream Danish sports federations. Some of our teams play in national leagues, and we always bring home lots of medals from gay and lesbian sports tournaments such as Outgames, Gay Games and Eurogames.
We are not all into competitions and winning medals – for most of us it is just about taking part, the social aspects of a club and about getting enough exercise. If you are not into team sports, then consider running or swimming, for example, where beginners are easily and willingly catered for.
Pan Idræt offers you a different way to meet other gays and lesbians. Everyone is welcome, as diversity and tolerance are very important to us. You do not need to be gay or lesbian to join, but we expect our members to support our fundamental principles.
To find out more about each sport, please click on "Sportsgrene" above and then choose the sport you are interested in. Most of the Danish names for the sports are very similar to English, but if you are looking for Running choose "Løb".
You will find a short description of the sport and in some cases a link to a separate website that has information in English. You can also see names of the contact people under each sport.
To take part in our activities you need to sign up here on the website under "Medlem" and pay your first semiannual subscription online. You will receive an email with a password to log on and choose the sports activities you want to do, and then pay for each individual sport online.
However, you do not need to sign up just to try us out for a couple of times. You are welcome to get in touch with the contact person for the activity you are interested in for a chat and to agree to come along and try us out before making your decision.
We're looking forward to hearing from you!
If you wish to contact PAN Idræt for general purposes and not in regards to a particular sport, then get in touch with the committee - see the list of committee members.
